Wairarapa Flight Information
Flights: Flights take place in the early morning within the first few hours of sunrise. They last approximately one hour but 4 hours total excursion time is normal.
Launch Site: The launch site is where we meet at the Paua Shell Shop in Kent Street, Carterton, where you will fly in a group of approximately 10 passengers and the pilot.
After packing up, enjoy a glass of bubbles before travelling to a cafe for a full breakfast, and returning to the Paua Shell Shop.

Landing Site: A balloon cannot be steered. It drifts with the wind. Part of the ballooning magic is that you never know in advance where you might land. The wide open landscape of Wairarapa make ideal landing sites, or it could be a school playground or a park. No matter where we land, there is always great excitement.
Passenger Requirements: It is warm in the balloon so you should dress as if you were going for a walk outside. We suggest that you wear walking boots or similar, and not high heels. Practical outdoor footwear for frosty or damp conditions under foot is ideal. Bring a hat or cap and sunglasses.

Wairarapa flights are $330 per person.

Safety Considerations:
- All children must be accompanied by an adult. The minimum age is 8 years old. We do not recommend flights for children aged under 10.
- All balloons and pilots are licensed and approved by the Civil Aviation Authority.
- A flight will be cancelled without hesitation should the weather conditions be unsuitable.
- Throughtout the flight the pilot is in constant radio contact with both the chase vehicle and Air Traffic Control.
